ABOUT PENSAR

PENSAR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to supporting the Hispanic/Latino community by empowering parents and students with the tools they need to enhance their lives through education, cultural enrichment, and advocacy. PENSAR seeks partnerships with those who share our commitment to expanding access to education, preserving cultural heritage, and offering vital resources.

PENSAR is committed to collaboration, advocacy, professionalism, and access, working together to support and uplift the Hispanic community. These values ensure integrity, excellence, and equal opportunities for all, driving us to make a positive and lasting impact in the communities we serve.

Collaboration

Believing that efforts made jointly have a higher chance of success, PENSAR strives to serve as a convener, networker, and collaborator for organizations, institutions, and individuals who work to improve education, health, and economic outcomes for members of its communities. It will lay the foundations for this initiative by identifying local resource centers, collecting information about gaps in services, and building a communication and organizational structure to facilitate and promote collaborative work.

Advocacy

PENSAR actively commits to supporting families and students as they understand and communicate their personal needs and those of the broader Hispanic and Latino/a/x community to build relationships, promote learning, identify and seek opportunities for advancement, and participate in activities that contribute to their personal welfare and that of their community. PENSAR advocates with and on behalf of the Hispanic and Latino/a/x communities as it relates to individual and group needs and policy issues.

Professionalism

Through involvement in PENSAR, families and students will be able to identify professional connections and resources in the greater community; demonstrate the value of working with professionals (Teachers, mentors, etc.) to enhance the success and skills of students in their goals in advancing their education and/or future career. PENSAR will uphold professional standards in our work with other organizations and engagement with parents and students.

Access

PENSAR believes that all youth should be given equal opportunities no matter their race, ethnic background, culture, religion, or sex, or whether they are rich or poor, citizen or non-citizen. PENSAR facilitates a network of education and cultural organizations and institutions that will provide families with equal access to key resources, educational experiences, quality services and accurate information to succeed in educational and career goals.

Education

The Education Pillar focuses on providing equitable and quality education for Hispanic/Latino students and their families. We offer guidance to help students navigate the complexities of higher education, achieve academic success, and thrive professionally. Through our comprehensive support system, we empower families with the knowledge and tools they need to support their children’s educational journey, fostering a brighter future for the entire community.

Culture

The Culture Pillar is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich heritage of Hispanic/Latino communities. By integrating cultural understanding into education and community activities, we strengthen bonds and ensure future generations remain connected to their roots. Join us in celebrating and promoting the vibrant cultural tapestry of the Hispaic/Latino community.

Research & Evaluation

The Research & Evaluation Pillar focused on examining and implementing best practices to support the educational and career pursuits of Hispanic/Latino students and their families. Our commitment to evidence-based practices ensures that our efforts drive meaningful and measurable progress, empowering students and families to achieve their educational and professional goals.
